VERY VALLEY
AS A BUSINESS consultant to high-tech startups, Alan Feinberg stays abreast of the latest valley-speak. So imagine his consternation when he received an e-mail "looking for a marketing consultant with knowledge and experience in Egg marketing."
Was this Egg a new marketing buzzword that had somehow passed Feinberg by? An abbreviation for engineering marketing? A new model for the Internet economy? (The infrastructure companies would be the yolks, surmised Feinberg.
"It wasnt until I got to the end of the message that I realized it was from one of the largest chicken farms in the U.S. They just needed someone who knew how to sell eggs!"
