FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

In The News

The following statement was released today by Scott Macdonald, communications director for Yes on Proposition 35, following decisions by Sacramento Superior Court Judge Talmadge R. Jones regarding disputes over wording on the ballot label and various ballot pamphlet analyses and arguments:

"Today’s court ruling is a great victory for Proposition 35. Opponents tried to muddle the arguments, but Judge Jones clarified Prop. 35 will simply give state and local governments the flexibility to use private sector engineers and architects to complete overdue projects.
"Judge Jones recognized that the same competitive selection process, used before severe restrictions were recently placed on California, would be restored by Prop. 35."

Prop. 35 will appear on the November and is supported by more than a dozen taxpayer groups, more than 150 counties, cities, school districts and other local agencies, and frustrated commuters.
